API 5L X65 pipes and tubes are available as welded and seamless tubes, can be offered in different specification levels, grades, types of pipe, sizes, and custom-made specifications made available for our esteemed clients. Carbon up to 0.28 per cent, manganese up to 1.2 per cent, phosphorus up to 0.03 per cent, sulphur, and other elements such as chromium and copper are contained in API 5L x65, which has good chemical qualities. On the other hand, the inclusion of manganese can segregate, resulting in a decreased impact strength. The sulphur content is controlled to a minimum of 0.007% to meet the minimum criteria. Essential oxygen, furnace, or combinational with the ladle refining techniques may be used to make ingots, blooms, coils, sheets, or plates.
The tubular forms without welded seam of the product shall be obtained from hot workings. Necessarily the hot worked product also gets through the cold finishing process to gain the desired structure of the API 5L X65 grades. The welding process is carried out with and without filler materials, heating continuously and mechanical pressing the forming edges together to offer the spontaneous flow of steel pipe.
