Hastelloy C22 pipe is one of the grades from the Hastelloy family of corrosion-resistant alloys. Hastelloy C22 has excellent corrosion resistance, is even better than C276 grade, and is considered an upgraded version of Hastelloy C276 grade. Hastelloy C22 has a higher percentage of chromium, provides even better resistance against pitting and crevice corrosive environments, and improves earthly life as well. Hastelloy C22 can also resist oxidizing mediums that usually can contain sodium chloride (NaCl) and Hydrochloric acid (HCL) like others and shows outstanding performance against cupric and ferric chlorides. Hastelloy C22 pipes have a chemical balance of nickel up to 56%, 13% of molybdenum, and the rest of proportion for chromium of about 22%. Hastelloy C22 pipes can be more resistant against oxidizing media as it has been proven at high temperatures. However, C22 and C276 have similar behavioural properties in reducing environments. Reducing agents are generally known as oxalic acids and formic acids. C22 pipes can be regularly used as weld filler due to their proven excellent weldability and alloying ability, leading to improving corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C22 is also amazing against intergranular corrosion in high heat treating zones.
